Thirsty Dog Pumpkin Ale

Here is what the Brewer says:
Brewed with summer's harvest of pumpkin, squash, honey, ginger, and love of great beers.
ABV = 5%, IBU's = 13.5, OG = 13.5 P

Serving Type: 12oz Bottle

My Thoughts:  This beer poured a totally clear amber/orange with ZERO head.  The smell was very pleasing, cinnamon, allspice, and fresh pumpkin make you want to drink this brew!  The taste doesn't let you down either.  The cinnamon hits you during the beginning and then mixes well with the pumpkin and others spices for the remainder of the drink. Nothing about the pumpkin or spices is over the top though.  All flavors are mild and well balanced with a hint of sweet malt that helps to deliver a very good pumpkin ale.  The carbonation is high in this one which really plays with your palate in a good way.  Drinkability is fairly high considering the well balanced flavors, and the low 5% ABV!   I could see myself getting this for at home, but maybe more for my my guests who are new to the pumpkin craftbeer scene. I prefer the stronger imperial pumpkin ales better because of the higher ABV and the strong pumpkin flavors that go along with it.

My Rating: Overall 81.75/100

    BUT, I do love comments on the beer blog and I'd love to see more people chime in about what they think about the beers I rate. Every Palate is different! :-)
