Heavy Seas Winter Storm Category 5 Ale

Here is what the Brewer says:
Our winter ale brewed with copious helpings of English malts and both U.S. and English hops making it a ruddy hued Imperial ESB in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering yet firm hop bitterness.
7.5% ABV

My Thoughts: This brew poured a copper color that had a hint of red to it when held up to light.  The head on this pour out of the bottle was next to nothing.  The smell was of sweet malts, roasted toffee and some very mild hops.  The taste on this brew follows the nose.   Caramel sweet malt, some earthy hops and toffee flavors.  I didn't get much bitterness out of this beer until the very end, and even then it was very very light.  The body and carbonation were medium and the drinkability of this beer is average.  I really couldn't see myself sitting down and enjoying more than two of these in a row.   If you plan on just having one or two, this is a nice ESB for the cold winter season.

My Ratings: Overall 67.5/100
