Stone Smoked Porter

Here is what the Brewer Says:
Stone Smoked Porter is dark, rich and complicated. A porter is substantially darker than a pale ale, but not as black or opaque as a stout. Our Smoked porter has a captivatingly deep mahogany color, complimented by silky dark tan head. Rich, full bodied and robust. Smooth, with chocolate and coffee-like flavors balanced by the subtle "smoky" character of just the right amount of peat-smoked specialty malt.

My Thoughts: The initial pour was very very dark, but the head was very white and thick.  The smell was all chocolate and coffee right from the bat.  The first taste hits you with the smokey flavor (which I love when it is not over the top) and the coffee hits you 2nd and it finishes with a very faint chocolate.  I love how this beer is so multidimensional.   You feel like you are drinking this silky smooth dark porter and then it hits you with 3-4 different notes of flavor that all play off each other.  The malt sweetness of this porter is so well done that you wonder why others don't go this route!  In the end you are left with a full bodied, creamy, well-balanced porter that could easily be staple in any craftbeer lovers beer fridge!
