Bear Republic Brewery Bear Racer 5

Here is what the Brewer Says:
This hoppy American IPA is a full bodied beer brewed American pale and crystalmalts, and heavily hopped with Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial.
There's a trophy in every glass.

ABV: 7.0% IBU: 75+

This is a hoppy American IPA.  The color is clear and golden and the initial smell is all hops, both floral and citrus.   The first taste is all hops but as I went on drinking I felt it had a slight malt flavor in the middle.   I tasted citrus, pine, even a little caramel flavor throughout this brew.   In the end you are left with a fresh, dry, and bitter taste that is very pleasing.   There is a large variety of hops used in making this beer and they are all used in a good balance.   Body is average and carbonation is not overly strong, but present enough for this IPA.  If you like IPAs and Hops....this is a must have because of its easy drinkability and its smoothness!  I have had it both on draft and in the bottle and both are excellent, but I did prefer the draft to the bottle because it just tasted fresher.

My Rating: Overall 88/100
look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | drink: 4.5
