As a Craft Beer Fan and a strong supporter of the Cleveland Craft Beer scene, it was refreshing to see local brews bringing home some very impressive medals. I have had the pleasure of having Head Hunter (my favorite IPA on the planet), Battle Axe Baltic Porter (a true to style porter with great flavor), and BORIS the Crusher (also one of my favorite stouts on the planet)! I'm sure next year our great city and state will be bringing home even more hardware. In the meantime, please go out and try these local brews if you have yet to try them. Let me know what you think! Glad you pointed this out Brad! Although these breweries are not new to OH, they are likely new to many, especially those who themselves have just started to enjoy craft beer. So many people (including consumers & establishment owners/buyers) blindly still hail Great Lakes as if it were the only craft beer offering in town. Yes Great Lakes makes great beer (many also previously award winning at GABF), but there is more out there & dare I say some may be as good or better (depending on the style & of course individual tastes). Announcements like this hopefully will encourage more people to step out of the Great Lakes cocoon this area often seems to be wrapped in & try some other great OH brews! Drinking local OH craft beer has never had more great options than right now!
