Fat Head's Pillage Porter

Here is what the Brewer says:
Dark roasted barley aromas as bold as fresh brewed coffee with a hint of toffee. This robust porter boasts a rich dark brown, mahogany hue and sturdy hopping rates that give a robust roasted finish to this beer.
6% ABV 44IBU
My Thoughts:  This beer poured a very dark brown with light tan lacing that remained after the fair amount of  head disappeared.  The smell was definitely roasted barley with smaller traces of coffee and chocolate. The flavor followed the nose.  The first flavor that hits your tongue is the coffee, with a good amount of carbonation behind it.  The middle of this beer adds the smokey and roasted flavors which compliment the coffee flavored ending which was a little on the bitter side.  The body on this brew is average and the carbonation is a little higher than average.  Drinkability was very good.   This beer doesn't overpower you with one flavor, it allows the coffee and roasted barley to work together to give you a very drinkable, and flavorful porter.

Serving Type: 16oz Draft

My Rating: Overall 85.5/100
