Southern Tier 2XIPA

Here is what the Brewer Says:
“4 types of hops & 3 types of malts”
Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

8.3% abv • Double India Pale Ale

My Thoughts:  The color was mostly yellow with a slight hint of orange.  For the most part this beer was pretty clear, just a slight haze to it.  The head as thick but quickly went away after a few sips.  The smell was very floral and piney with a hint of sweetness to it. The first few sips are hoppy as expected.  The bitterness hits your tongue right away with flavors of grapefruit and pine.  The sweet malt hints at caramel or toffee, but was so faint it was hard to tell.  The brew has a thin body, the malt gives it a little, but not much.  Also, carbonation is minimal as well.  The higher ABV is hidden well in this beer.  The drinkablity for me scores high simply because the beer tastes good (I like the piney hops) and doesn't really hit you too hard on any one single note.   It is a very light malt double IPA that a hop head is sure to enjoy!
Serving Type: Draft

My Rating: Overall 85.75/100
look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | drink: 4.25
