Here is what the Brewer Says:
Belgian style imperial India pale ale with an ample malt base, a fruity Belgian yeast aroma, and an alluring citrus hop flavor.
Alcohol by Volume: 8%
International Bitterness Units: 70
Preferred Glass: Tulip
Availability: Limited Release
Draft: 1/6 bbl
My Thoughts: This was a Belgian style imperial IPA that is a limited release as of September 2010. As you can see it poured dark, with a huge head that eventually settled nicely. The smell of this Belgian beer was yeasty, almost a bread smell, and it also came out in the flavor. Being an IPA style it had some citrus hop flavor (grapefruit mostly to me) but it had a substantial malt profile. The beer had a Medium body and had a higher carbonation content as well. I liked it but didn't love it. If the malt was toned down a little this beer would have been a little better. The hops only had a chance to be tasted initially and then the malt took over so the 70ibu really seemed a little high to me.
