Dogfish Head Miles Davis Bitches Brew

Here is what the Brewer Says:
"In honor of the 40th anniversary of the original release of Bitches Brew, Miles Davis’ 1970 paradigm-shifting landmark fusion breakthrough, we’ve created our own Bitches Brew - a bold, dark beer that’s a fusion of three threads imperial stout and one thread honey beer with gesho root, a gustatory analog to Miles’ masterpiece."

9%ABV and 38IBU

My Thoughts: I thought this stout was excellent all around. The color was very very dark and it had a brown thick head that stuck around a long time.  The smell was all coffee and chocolate and I knew I was going to like this just from smelling it.   This Brew is Very smooth and easy to drink even though it has a higher alcohol content.  I got a coffee/espresso flavor that paired well with the dark chocolate flavor that was also present.   The roasted malt adds a hint of roasty sweetness to go with this full bodied brew!  The carbonation is low, this is just silky and smooth from start to finish!  This is an excellent stout that you should try, especially if you like a coffee/espresso taste too!  Dogfish head did Miles Davis proud with this brew!!

Serving Type:  Draft

My Rating: Overall 97/100
look: 4.5 | smell: 5 | taste: 5 | feel: 5 | drink: 4.75
