The label said it was a 2008 bottling, and with the high ABV, I thought might have found a bargain of a nicely aged DIPA. <br /><br />After pouring it last night, I thought the taste might be off because it didn't taste like a typical DIPA. However, I've never tasted it fresh, so I didn't have a reference point.<br /><br />But after reading your review, I realized that the taste profile was very similar to what you describe, with possibly a mellowing of the hoppiness. It definitely finished better than it started.<br /><br />After reading your review, I think I will go back and grab the other two bottles, if they're still there.
