Rogue Mocha Porter

Here is what the Brewer Says:
Tasting Notes: Ruddy brown in color, a bittersweet balance of malt and hops with a light cream finish.
13 Ingredients:Malts: Northwest Harrington & Klages; 135-165, 95-115, and 70-80 Crystal; Beeston Chocolate, Black, Munich and Carastan.
Hops: Centennial & Perle Hops.
Yeast & Water: Rogue's Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water.
Specs: 13º PLATO 54 IBU 73 AA 77º Lovibond

My Thoughts: Anytime you mix coffee and beer together you are doing a very smart thing in my opinion.  The pour of this brew is very dark with a medium brown head.  The smell filled my nose with rich coffee and roasted malt scents.  The taste starts with actually some bitterness!  A mild bitterness and smokey roasted malt start off with a little less coffee taste than it smelled, but still present and flavorful.  Also, here is where the chocolate flavor came in which really brought everything together.  The body is a little heavier than medium but not full, and the carbonation is the same.   I really enjoyed the Mocha Porter and wouldn't hesitate to get it again because of its great flavor and its great drinkability.
